Healthy Families Massachusetts (HFM) provides home visiting for first-time parents under age 21. Parents are eligible for these services during pregnancy until their child is three years old.
Our Successes
- 66 percent lower rate of child abuse for HFM teen mothers.
- 83 percent of HFM mothers enrolled in school or graduated, a rate significantly higher than a national study showing only 53 percent of teen mothers graduating.
- Children in HFM on average were developmentally on target despite national research that shows children of teen parents are at greater risk for developmental delays.
